International Women’s Day at College Level
On the auspicious occasion of International women’s Day, campaign for peace kandhamal organised an interaction meeting with the different college students of phulbani town to observe the day to mark the unlimited power and contribution of women in the world. The women were not considered equal with men since immemorial which witnessed unrest and commotion in the western countries.
During the Russian empire Nicholas-2 the textile worker women started revolution against injustice to them including suffrage for women the women demanded that they be given right to vote and hold public office that which paved way to Russian revolution. Keeping in view of the above and the present scenario the meeting highlighted the role of women in bringing about equality and justice in the society.
Prof. Prasanna Bishoyi evoked the awareness of the students and invited Mr. Abhay Sundar to share the significance of the day’s observation with the students Prof. Akhay Behera of Millennium College welcomed the guest and students to mark the occasion with attention and enthusiasm lecturer Alok Mishra presented his view that the students shouldn’t have diverse attitude towards each lecturer Manas Shetty, lecturer. Rabindra Behera pinpointed that gender equality should start in the family first and the students in the college massed bear on mind that the discrimination towards gender inequality should be banned. There were all together 70 students in the programme.
After sharing sessions by the college staff the students were invited to speak on the occasion of the day. After the deliberation of the students a debate competition was conducted on the observation of the day where 9 of the students were awarded with prizes for their good performance in the debate. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Sahu a student of +3 2nd years from Govt. Autonomous College stood first in the debate which was shared by Miss Rubina Behera 1st year student of BBA of Millennium College. Mr. Amos Suna Majhi, a student of +3 2nd year of Govt. Autonomous College was awarded with second prize along with Jajanita Digal and Deepanjali Desnayak. Miss. Pragati Mallick, Mr. Pitabas Gundramaajhi, Miss. Nirmala Ganda won third prize. Mr. Pratap Kumar Mallick received a consolation prize. Miss. Rubina Behera in her speech clearly mentioned that women are the real power for sustaining the earth. They are the master of creation without them the whole world would have been a place of desert. Miss Jajanita Digal said that the women are the epitome of perseverance, sacrifice and ever vigilant to fulfill the need of mankind. Miss Pragati Mallick and Nirmala Ganda categorically highlighted the violence that is taking place against women throughout the world should be stopped and the culprit should be given capital punishment. The women have achieved excellence in the field of public administration, sports, science, research and above all service to mankind. After their speeches vote of thanks by Prof. Akhay Behera of the millennium college. The programme was highly appreciated by the participants.
Organising of International Women’s Day at Community Level
Similarly by the joint initiation of Campaign for Peace, Banabasi Suraskshya Parisada and Regional Women’s Federation and Jibika Surakshya Manch, a meeting and procession was also organized at Brahmnigaon under Daringbadi block of Kandhamal where hundreds of women participated.
After the Procession a public meeting was organized at Brahmnigaon weekly market which was presided by women leader Laxhmi Bagsingh and other women leaders of the region like Kumari Pradhan, Sridevi Mallik, Santi Majhi, Justina Baliarsing, and leaders from various organizations like Subhash Chandra Baliarsing, Bijay Swain, Balabhadra Mallick, Sarat Mallick, Dibyasingh Sabhasundar, Ashok Majhi were spoke on the occasion.
Interaction with Students on Democracy, Secularism and Cultural Diversities at Govt. ITI College, Phulbani
Campaign for Peace, kandhamal was conducted successfully an interaction programme with the students of Govt. Industrial Training Institute at Phulbani on the above topic on 21/03/2018. The principal of the institute Dr. B. B. Nayak when approached about the subject gladly agreed and accordingly asked his staff to extend full cooperation in the management of the programme for the occasion a conference hall was arranged where more than hundreds of students gathered together to take part in the programme.
Mr. Prasanna Bishoyi outlined the objective of the programme and explained the detail about the objective and vision of the programme. In his message he stated that students have a crucial role to play in motivating, organizing and imparting relevant knowledge to the people in the community about unity, liberty, integrity and fraternity. It is a clarion call for the students as future of the good citizen to understand the constitution and the values enshrined in it. In the day to day life of the people cutting across differences, ill-feelings and cultural diversity. He also requested the students to come forward and take the lead to organize and strengthen a student’s voice in Kandhamal so that issues affecting the life of the people in Kandhamal can be better perceived and carried out for the welfare of the people of the district. Mr. Sadashiv Patro, senior journalist who was Guest of Honor for the occasion appealed the students to be united for the cause of social justice, peace and harmony. He also emphasized that as knowledge is power and students are also a powerful instrument to transform the society by embracing honesty, hard work and commitment. Some of the students of the institution namely Miss. Gayatri Pradhan said that India is a country of all and for its freedom not only for one religion but for all and there should not be any division in religion. Another student named Ajay Digal narrated the violence of kandhamal was the clear sign of intolerance towards another religion. Since India is a secular country we all have rights to live with equality and liberty. One of the lecturers of the institution Mr. Phaniranjan Mohanty thanked on the behalf of the institution to the team of campaign for peace for their effort and enthusiasm to conduct their programme in their institution. Mr. Narendra Mohanty, Secretary, Campaign for Peace expressed heartiest thanks to conduct the programme in the institution starting from the principal to the staff and students.

To commemorate the martyrs day of BHAGAT SINGH a meeting of college students was organized at Millenium college Phulbani where more than 💯students from various college of the town participated in the function. The staff of the college where the meeting was organized extended their cooperation whole hearted. The Principal of the college Dr. Akhay Behera presided over the meeting and two other professors Mr. Alok Mishra and Mr. Manas Sahu were invited as honorable guest and speaker for the meeting. The meeting started with lighting of lamp before the portrait of martyr BHAGAT SINGH and a patriotic song was sung by the students. Prof. Prasanna Bishoyi on behalf of Campaign for Peace welcomed the participants and briefed the gathering about the importance of the day of the meeting and the contribution of BHAGAT SINGH & SUKHDEV, RAJGURU towards elimination of imperialism of the British dehumanizing spirit of the British rule from INDIA. In his message he appealed the students to imbibe humanizing values cherish and follow the inspiration of BHAGAT SINGH individually and collectively to meaningfully contribute to the welfare, peace and unity of INDIA. The chief speaker Mr. Alok Mishra highlighted the contribution of the eminent leaders of INDIA Like BHAGAT SINGH, LALA LAJPAT ROY, BAL GANGA DHAR TILAK, BIPIN PAL, SUBHASH BOSE, MAHATMA GANDHI etc., and who fought for the freedom of INDIA till the end by sacrificing their lives. BHAGAT SINGH had tremendous courage and influence of the revolutionaries who stood unmoved before the BRITISH Repression. He always cried out “INQILAB ZINDABAD” to show his struggle for the freedom of INDIA and invited youth mass to join him to annihilate the BRITISH rule from INDIA. In their message they appealed the students to be courageous and raise voice against injustice taking place in the society today only then the observance of the day can be meaningful. The president of the meeting said that students are the hope of the nation so they should follow the model of the great heroes who sacrificed their life for mother INDIA they should cultivate good leadership, mutual understanding and brotherhood to combat anti-national forces. The students also got opportunities to give their views on the importance of the day miss. Pragyan Paramita Sahu. a student of +3 1st year from Govt. Autonomous College Phulbani hit upon the revolutionary spirit of BHAGAT SINGH and his immense contribution for the young generation of INDIA . She said that BHAGAT SINGH was a strong believer in social and economic justice and equality any form of injustice done to INDIA could no longer be tolerated and should be challenged even by sacrificing one’s own he is the real model of heroism for the young people of INDIA. she said that now in INDIA BRITISHERS are absent but much more worse things are taking place causing threat to the innocents specially the women’s. She cited the example of “Kunduli DALIT GIRL RAPE incident”. Miss Pragati Mallick, a student from Millennium College emphatically pointed out that the effect of consumerism culture has poised a great threat to the young and especially on present youth masses. The pornography has ruined many youths today through mass media. She said that if BHAGAT SINGH was alive today he would have first attacked the vested interested group who are dividing INDIA in the name religion and caste. She requested the youth friends to learn a great lesson from martry BHAGAT SINGH a spirit of sacrifice, justice and brotherhood to serve INDIA in a better manner. There were other students namely Moses, Mukesh, Rajesh, Janaki, Pratap, Sasmita who spoke on the contribution of BHAGAT SINGH and remembered his sacrifice for the people of INDIA. finally the students who participated in the debate competition on BHAGAT SINGH’S life and contribution for INDIA were awarded with prizes this particular moment among the students boosted the moral and generated the spirit of selfless sacrifice and obligation for the mankind and people of INDIA. On this great occasion Mr. Narendra Mohanty, Convener and Secretary of Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal has been expressed his heartiest thanks who joined in the initiative to protect and promote the Democracy, Secularism and Cultural Diversities of our country by the inspiration of Saheed Bhagat Singh and Kandhamal Peace Centre.
Community Level Meetings:
Community level meetings was also been organized during the period at Hatimunda , Dahu and Bijali Village by our community level volunteers on 13th March, 18th March and 28th March respectively on the livelihood issues, on the peace and harmony as well as to protect the democratic and cultural diversities among the community and castes.

Interaction among the Students of Millennium College- 28th February
In view of empowering the students of millennium college phulbani regarding deep insight and knowledge on democracy, secularism, constitutional values and fostering peace in the society a meeting and interaction was organised in the college campus. The principal of the college Mr. Anil Kumar Behera, lecturer Mr. Akhaya Kumar Digal took active part along with 35 students of the college. The meeting started with a patriotic song by the college students.
Mr. Abhaya Sundar from Govt. Autonomous College of Phulbani outlined the objective of the meeting and the role of the students towards a peaceful society. Prof. Prasanna Bishoyi in a lucid manner threw light on democracy, secularism and constitutional values. In his message he also drew the attention of the students regarding fundamental rights and duties for a harmonious society. The principal of the college in his welcoming message expressed deep appreciation and regards for the wonderful meeting by which the students got to know about their roles towards a just society. One of the students Siddhant Behera wanted to know about the govt. Policy which are not properly implemented in the villages as a result people are deprived of their basic rights and facilities. A girl from the college Miss. Naramada Kanhar held responsible for the govt. functionaries for the deplorable conditions of the people in the villages. Finally all the students unanimously agreed to have a student’s voice in the district for awareness and implementation of the govt. Programmes for the people through the unity and co-operation of the students. The college students can play a vital role in attracting the attention of the higher authorities for the poor and deprived.
Cultural Interaction: Participation in Niyamgiri Festival(23rd-25th February)
As a cultural interaction among the various tribal and forest dwellers on behalf of Banabasi Surakshya Parisada and Campaign for Peace we around 15 persons including community leaders of different villages were participate in the three days Niyamgiri Festival from 23rd to 25th February. Such gathering and participation with others was create an exposure among the community leaders about various cultural diversities which linked with their livelihood issues.
World Social Justice Day : Participation in the Rally of Tribal & Forest Dwellers at State Capital on 20th February
Though we were engaged with the high level inquiry team members of Odisha Human Rights Commission from 19th to 21st February regarding violation of National Food Security Act, our community level volunteers were participated in a state level rally of tribal and other forest dwellers. They demanded proper implementation of individual and community forest rights and repeal the anti-people CAF Act, which is meant to destruction of natural forests. Around hundreds of community people under the leadership of Rashmi Mallik, Kamadeb Mallick and Ashok Majhi were actively participated in the programme which was organised on the eve of World Social Justice Day.
Visit of High Level Inquiry Team of Odisha Human Rights Commission to Kandhamal on Food Security(19th -21st February).
Before the inquiry by the High Level Inquiry Team of OHRC regarding the massive violation of National Food Security Act/ Scheme in Daringibadi Block area under Kandhamal district 83 years Old widow Tamba Swalsing (native of Hatimunda village of Hatimunda G.P) closed her eye forever/ expired on 13th January, 2018 .
The inquiry team has been taken statements from 15 numbers of petitioners and beneficiaries at Daringibadi as per the OHRC Case No: 3382/2017 filed by Banabasi Suraskhya Parisad, Kandhamal including from Narendra Mohanty, the Convener of Banabasi Suraskhya Parisada, Kandhamal on 20th February.
On 21st February around 40 beneficiaries from different village came to Daringbadi to give their statement before the Odisha Human Rights Commission’s high level Inquiry Committee about the non getting of Ration.
Complains also was registered about getting less Ration against their family members and discontinuation of ration supply etc. The petition has been filed by Banabasi Suraskhya Parisad, Kandhamal and created an good impact among the public as well as intellectuals and social activists.
Publishing of Article Regarding Students’ Voice on Democracy, Secularism and Cultural Diversities:
After documenting the Students Voice on Democracy, Secularism and Cultural Diversities an Feature has been prepared and that was published in the weekly Human Right based News Paper “JANAVADI”.
Regional Community Level Meeting- 13th February.
With the association of people’s organisation like Banabasi Suraskhya Parisada, Kandhamal the community level meeting was organised at Meramaha Chhak, Brahmnigaon on the common issues of Food Security, Forest & Land Rights , Minimum Profitable Support Price for Turmeric and others agricultural produces as well as to accelerate the campaign for peace and harmony . It was decided to oppose and demand to Repeal of Anti – People and Anti – Tribal / Forest Dwellers act ‘ Compensatory Aforestation Fund Act (CAF Act)- 2016, which is meant for destruction of Natural Forests and for massive loot by forest departments and bureaucrats in nexus with political leaders.
Appear Before State Human Rights Commission- 9th February,2018.
As per the last date on 8th January, 2018, the next hearing date was finalised to 25th January, 2018 about the issues of non-receiving of food grains and violation in the proper implementation of National Food Security Act and submission of High Level Inquiry Committee Reports. But that was not possible during the fixed period and we approached the OHRC regarding the speedy inquiry about the matter on 9th January. So it was finalized that the high level inquiry team members of commission will visit the filed from 19th-21st February and the next date for hearing was finalized on 8th March, 2017.
Regional Volley Ball Tournament at Bijali Village-.
With an objective to spread harmony and fraternity with the association of Antarang Yubak Sangh, Bijali Village and Village Peace Committee, a regional Volley Ball Tournament was started from 26th January and continued till Semi Final/6th February. On 8th February Final March was organised among the Suluma(Dhusari Gaon) Team and Sikarama Team. There are around 40 numbers of team were participated in that tournament. In the final match the Suluma (Dhushari Gaon) team was wined in 3/2 point. When Mr. Narendra Mohanty, Secretary of Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal presented the Winners Shield Mr. Subash Baliarsingh, the block coordinator of Antaranga Youth Federation presented the Runners Cup. Among others Hatimunda GP CRCC Mr. Ajay Baliarsing, Headmaster of Hatimunda TRW School Mr. Jashobanta Pradhan and others spoke on the occasion.

Interaction among the Students Leaders /30th January,2018,Martyr’s Day
Students’ Raised Their Voice On Democracy, Secularism And Cultural Diversities:
On the occasion of martyrs day of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, a large numbers of students from different colleges from Phulbani town of Kandhamal gathered at SAMBADIK BHAWAN, to mark the day on 30th Jan,2018 and organised a discussion on the above mentioned subject. The event was memorable as the college students from different colleges with great enthusiasm celebrated the day for the first time in such manner . It was very encouraging to see the students getting involved actively in the event and invoking the messages of Unity-Integrity and Fraternity for the healthy democracy of the nation. It was found more delighting and appealing that the students unanimously opposed vehemently the adverse effect of communalism, religious-intolerance, caste–ism, moreover exploitation, corruption, terrorism, environmental pollution and degradation, sexual abuse, political incoherence in the life of the people of India.
It was also commemorated no. of people shed their blood and energy door the freedom of India. But still India remains to be under the clutches of economic and social injustice. There is a wide spread of poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, malnutrition, health-hazards affecting the lives of the people yet no substantial measures have been taken to eradicate and elevate the problems. Once Kandhamal district was neglected very badly in terms of social, economical and financial aspects till today people of the district remain neglected, oppressed, depressed because of the apathetic attitude of the political party and district administration.
Some of the students namely Rakesh Digal, Madhusmita Mohanty, Amos Sunamajhi had clearly pointed out that though Gandhiji sacrificed his life for a healthy democracy and caste free society it is still humiliating and disgusting to see that India doesn’t enjoy healthy democracy and people are still under the curse of caste-ism. They suggested that the voters played a vital role to elect their representatives. So the success of democracy depends on the voters. The students like Ipsita Priyadarshini, Priyanka Patro, Debabrata Mohanty emphatically pointed out that India is a land of great civilisation and highly cultured. But yet India is going through evil elements like communalism, caste-ism, regionalism and terrorism and such ill feeling by some section of the people who are selfish and highly bias and illusion towards the welfare of other people. They clearly mentioned that selfish politicians should be discarded and dishonest govt. officials should be punished in order to establish good image of the nation.
The students like Ashes Pradhan, Bhisma Pradhan, Manasmita Behera pinpointed that Gandhiji fought tooth and nail to make India free from the British era with the help of two immortal weapons namely Non-Violence and Satyagraha opening a new leaf in the history of mankind. The great scientist Einstein once remarked “people in future will refuse to believe that a real Gandhi ever lived flesh and blood” they stressed upon that Gandhiji is no more now but his words and deeds will remain immortal.
However the event was successfully organised by Campaign For Peace, Kandhamal headed by Mr. Narendra Mohanty, Secretary of the campaign and the team members like Mr. Prasanna Bishoyi and others. Mr. Jirimiya Suna Majhi captivated the hearts of the participants by his melodious opening song and Mr. Brahmananda Behera, an eminent Social Activist, Mr. Syamsan Digal, lecturer, Mr. Prasanta Pradhan, Mr.Sanjay Digal, Mr. Sumanta Karna was coordinated the programme. Finally it was felt that the students were highly impressed by the programme and wanted to conduct such programmes in the future. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks .

Rural Sports Competition and Volley Ball Tournament( 23rd January- 26th January):
As per the planning to spread the fraternity, peace and harmony among the communities and localities Rural Sports cum Volleyball Tournament was organised at Kiramaha from 23rd January to 26th January with the cooperation of 
Antaranga and Village Council. A total 14 numbers of teams from 12 villages were participated in that tournament. The semi-final and final match of the tournament was organized on 26th January with the presence of thousands of audiences. Mr. Debaraj Baliarsing, the principal of Rushimal Mohavidyalay as Chief- Guest handed over the Winners’ Cup to the Sikabadi Team and Mr. Aran Nayak, Ex. Z.P member handed over the Runners’ Cup to the Kiramaha Team. The prize also given to Best Netter, Best Heater and Best Disciplined Team by other dignitaries.
Observation of Netaji Subhash Bose Jayanty- 23 rd January,2018.
On the eve of birth day of great freedom fighter of the non compromise movement of Indian Freedom Struggle, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, we organized the day with the community level youths and common public to learn from his life and struggle to build a peaceful and fearless society with dignity. The programme was jointly organised at Kiramaha Village by the volunteers of Campaign for Peace and Banabasi Surakshya Parisada, Kandhamal with association of Kiramaha Village Committee. Mr. Samuel Badamajhi, one of the oldest person of the village inaugurated the programme as Chief Guest and Mr. Aran Nayak, Ex. Zilla Parisad Member as Main Speaker. Among others Mr. Balabhadra Mallick, Mr. Amosh Majhi and Bijay Swain coordinated the activities
Regional Community Level Meeting- 12th January, at Gadapur.
A regional meeting of community leaders and youths was organised at Gadapur on the various basic issues like food security, land and forest rights and other problems faced by the community level and chalk out the plan to address the situation.

Appear Before State Human Rights Commission- 8th January,2018.
As per the last date on 20th November, 2017, the hearing date was finalised to 8th January, 2018 about the issues of non-receiving of food grains and violation in the proper implementation of National Food Security Act . So, we appeared before OHRC to counter the fake report submitted by the Collector, Kandhamal. Receiving our counter affidavit regarding the issue, the Chair Person of State Human Rights Commission , Justice Birakishore Mishra, was expressed his concern and given order to inquiry the matter by the high level team members of commission within 2 weeks of time.

Observation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanty
Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal has been observed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 126th Jayanty at G.Udaygiri, Kandhamal on 14th April, 2017.
Though the day was declared as holiday for Maha Visubha Sankraty(Mahavir Jayanty, Good Friday as well as Ambedkar Jayanty, the meeting was been organized by the hostel borders of Haback High School and some like minded persons. The meeting was presided by Md Abdul Sukur, the eminent Rationalist and President of the Campaign and the speakers like Adv. Syamal Rao Achary, Mr. Rajesh Bagh- lecturer of Political Science, Kalinga Mahavidyalaya, G.Udaygiri (Main Speaker), Sisir Pattnaik (Journalist), Mr. Umakant Batik, H.M of Haback High School, Md. MASS PROTEST BY LEFT & DEMOCRATIC FORCES ON BHADRAK COMMUNAL VIOLENCE
An alleged offensive remark about Hindu deities in the social media had sparked communal tension in area on 5th April just after Ram Navami festival. Activists of the Viswa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal had come out on the streets demanding the arrest of the accused. Several roads of the town were blocked by protesters. On 6th April morning, normalcy appeared to have returned as hopes were pinned on the outcome of the peace committee meeting. However, the talks failed to break the ice. The situation suddenly took a turn for the worse after words were exchanged during a bike rally on Friday. It led to ransacking of roadside shops and some shops were even set on fire. Rioters were seen roaming the streets in the communally sensitive town where more than 50 shops and 20 god downs were set on fire. Police teams were attacked and vehicles damaged. There were reports of some people sustaining injuries in the violence in the evening. Ten protesters were detained by the district police as reported by media(The Hindu)
Communal tension flared up again in Bhadrak on Friday after the peace committee talks failed, prompting the authorities to clamp down indefinite curfew in the town.
Top officials including Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, Director General of Police K. B. Singh and Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central) A. B. Ota have rushed to Bhadrak to take stock of the situation.
“Tense situation is prevailing in Bhadrak. We are mobilising more security personnel from neighbouring districts for deployment at troubled pockets. We hope the situation would improve soon,” Mr. Ota told The Hindu over phone from Bhadrak.
Following deterioration in the law and order situation, Commissioner of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation Gyana Ranjan Dash was asked to take charge as Bhadrak Collector with immediate effect. The post of Bhadrak Collector was lying vacant after Prabhat Kumar Bhoi retired on March 31.
Observation of Utkal Divas(Foundation Day of Odisha) on 1st April 2017
On 1st April, the foundation day of Odisha, called as ‘Utkal Divas’, in that day of 1936, the State Odisha(Orissa) has recognised as Special State hood and Odia(Oriya) was accepted as its mother language by a long struggle with the Britishers. Remembering the day and with an objective to aware the students on its importance a meeting was organised at Madaguda G.P of Kotagada Block of Kandhamal district. A meeting was organized taking teachers and students as well as panchayat representatives at the campus of Madaguda Up-Graded High School. Competitions such as debate and song has been organised among the students. The different speakers like Headmaster, teacher, local Sarapanch and others also spoke on that occasion.

MARTYRS DAY OF SAHEED – E- AZAM BHAGAT SINGH OBSERVED
Phulbani, 23 March, 2017: Saheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh was the symbol of secularism against all religious intolerance. He was one of the architect who fought against British Imperialism towards a vision to build an democratic socialist country by demolishing the inequality and exploitative based society. This was the call given by the different speakers at the Martyrs Day Observation by Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal on 23rd Mach.
Martyrs Day of Saheed – E- Azam Bhagat Singh has been observed with dignity by Campaign for Peace in the district of Kandhamal. Two event was organised at district head quarter at Phulbani and another at Government High School campus, Tikabali. The Phulbani meeting was presided by Adv. Deepak Rath and the objective of such observation has been highlighted by Ex. Prof. Tirth Jani (History) and Mr. Prasanna Bisoi, the Principal of VISWASS who are the Executive Body member of Campaign for Peace. The Programme was coordinated by Mr. Subramanyam Das, Mr. Jirimiya Sunamajhi and Debendra Mantry. Similarly the programme was organized at Government High School campus of Tikabali, Kandhamal where Md. Abdul Sukur, the President of the Campaign for Peace and Mr. Sanjay Digal took the leadership to organise the event. The Headmaster and Teachers were participated with the hundreds of students. The Secretary of the Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal has been expressed his gratitude to all the stake holders who worked for such successful events.

Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal has been organised meeting and rally at Kotagada on today (10th December, 2016) on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.
The students and teachers of Kotagada Government High School and SSABM College, Kotagada were participated in the activities. A procession was started from the High School campus and covered the township area of Kotagada with slogan and patriotic songs.
A meeting was presided by Mr. Trilochan Das (H.M) . After paying homage to the great tribal leader who fought against British era and hanged on 10th December by the emperlist Britisher. Human Rights Activist and Secretary of Campaign for Peace Narendra Mohanty, Rationalist leader and President, Campaign for Peace Md. Abdul Sukur, Mr. Pratap chandra Das, Mr. Kailash Singh, Social Worker Jirimiya Sunamajhi spoke on this occasion and call the students to come forward against all sorts of injustice and violation of human rights. The students also performed an welcome song before the starting of program.
More than 500 students took the participation in that event.

An One Hour Symbolic Protest at Master Canteen Square, Bhubaneswar has been organized on 15th November,2016 under the banner of Campaign Against Fabricated Cases(CAFC), Odisha. The Protest has organized to expressing solidarity and demanding justice to the victims of Bhaliaguda Fake Encounter. On 14th November, 2012 at Bhaliaguda Forest (Bordering area of Gajapati- Ganjam and Kandhamal), where 5 unarmed innocent tribal and dalits of Kandhamal district were killed by Security Forces in the name of Encounter with Maoists. The family members, widows of deceased are fighting their own struggle to get justice since last 4 years both legally and democratically.
After the protest a memorandum has been send to the Honorable Governor of Odisha.

Brief Description:
With an objective to unite all tribal, dalits, minorities and backward class people a huge gathering through rally and meeting was organized at State Capital- Bhubaneswar on 15th November, on the occasion of Birsa Munda Jayanty. People from the every corners of the state were gathered and demanded their constitutional rights and expressed their agony against the anti-tribal, anti-dalits and anti-minority programme by the government of odisha. As we supported the causes, more than hundreds persons from Banabasi Surakshya Parishad, Adibasi Adhikar Andolan and Campaign for Peace were participated in that event against repression, exploitation and economic inequality.
Theme: Struggle for Dignity & Self Identity of Tribal, Dalits , Minority and Backward Classes.
Rationale:
Justice with dignity can’t possible without achieving basic rights. So as a tactics- mass mobilisation for basic rights has been used as a tool by different right based organisations towards restoration of self identity and building a right based peaceful society.

As an ongoing activities of our Peace Campaign we have organised the documentary film shows on peace and harmony among the community as well as educational institutions within the time frame. With the meeting of community leaders/Volunteers we arranged film shows at community level at Nuagaon, Dahu and Badegudi villages.

The documentary film shows was based on our different campaign like organised of various events as well as rally and other activities for basic rights and other documentary films.

The documentary film was quite relevance with our campaign for peace and harmony. The involvement of students, youths as well as community has been documented which has its inspiration for future activities. Our most objective was to united common masses instead of caste, creed and religion for communal harmony and expose the activities of fundamentalist and dividing forces.

Brief Description:
As per the planning meeting of community leaders and volunteers of 8 GPs was organized and completed by 22nd November. On 24th Novembers around 200 community leaders and volunteers were gathered to discuss the various issues and to chalk out future course of action.
As our earlier planning we were reviewed our previous activities on right based campaign and designed future activities with the volunteers and prominent leaders of the campaign. Accordingly planning for Human Rights Day at Kotagarh on 10th December and Rally at Daringbadi Block on 12th December was been planned. A Steering Committee was also formed in this context taking 44 persons from 8 Gram Panchayats.
Theme: Follow-up and way forward activities as done earlier.
Rationale:
It is always important to analysis(follow-up) the activities organised for a special objective, learn from the process, weakness and strength identified within the process and chalk out future activities, which help us to do better in future. Accordingly we were organised follow-up meetings of volunteers associated with the National Food Security Campaign. After reviewing our activities we were chalk out our future action plan regarding the subject.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
(I). PREPARATORY WORK TO OBSERVE WORLD HUMAN RIGHTS DAY(10TH DECEMBER)
The Preparatory work towards observation of Human Rights Day has been done with the active members of the Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal and it was planned to do that event at Kotagada Block Head quarter where basic human rights has been violated continuously. The responsibility was given to Mr. Jirimiya Sunamajhi, Dayanidhi Mallick and others to contact with education institutions and other concerned persons for the purpose.
(II). MEETING WITH DELAGATION OF GERMAN JOURNALISTS ON ISSUES AFTER KANDHAMAL VIOLENCE-2007 & 2008.
A delegation of Journalists from German has visited Odisha from 20th-22nd November and discussed with Civil Society Organisations working for Peace and Harmony within the Kandhamal after Communal Violence-2007 & 2008. The delegation discussed with me along with Dhirendra Panda, Mahendra Parida, Nikolas Barla, Jugal Kishor Ranjit, Ajay Singh and Manoj Nayak about the post violence scenario in Kandhamal and perspective action to combat communalism.
(III). MEETING WITH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
A team of our volunteers met government officials regarding public grievances and submitted open letter to the Collector, Block Development Officer and Tahasildar for the proposed 12th December demonstration in front of Daringbadi Block Office demanding immediate implementation of National Food Security Scheme, Forest Right Act, MGNREGS etc.

Brief Description:
On the eve of Gandhi Jayanty, we have organise meeting with the Students and garlanding on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of Nation. Under the leadership of Mr. Md. Sukur, the President of Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal and other members of the campaign organised the event with the students of locality at Phulbani. The speakers were spoke about the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi towards establishing of Peace and Harmony in the present context. Among others Mr. Rajkishore Padhy, Prasant Pradhan and Sumant Karna were shared their views on that occasion.
Theme: The Ideology of Father of Nation & Role of Students and Youths Towards Building of Peace & Harmony
Rationale: Mahatma Gandhi is always the inspiration for the society towards unity and to build peace and harmony among the various divided communities. To give a boost to our campaign we have decided to observe such programme.

With an objective to accelerate the campaign as well as to take the common issues of community level, the meeting of Community Leaders and forefront volunteers has been organised during the month of October from 5th October to 18th October. In the mean time we have been covered to organize such meetings in 5 Gram Panchayats . The said G.Ps are Tajungia, Gadapur, Hatimunda, Brahmnigaon and Jhinjiriguda where the said community leaders and volunteers were gathered and decided to lead the campaign as ‘ Right to Live With Dignity and Peace’ . In every Gram Panchayat persons belongs to tribal and dalit community and having leadership quality as well as access on community were gathered in such meetings. The resource person were spoke about the objective of the ‘Peace Campaign’ and how to achieve it with community action through community mobilisation for common issues. The issues like inclusion of all eligible poor families under National Food Security Scheme (NFSS), proper implementation of MGNREGS, basic health and education services, proper implementation of various social welfare schemes like old and widows pension etc were discussed and it was decided that with association of local people’s organisation ‘Banabasi Surakshya Parishad’ the peace campaign as well as campaign for basic rights will be accelerated jointly.

Brief Description: After the declaration of block administration our volunteers visited to all eight Gram Panchayats namely Katingia, Kumbharigaon, Jhinjiriguda, Brahmnigaon, Hatimunda, Gadapur, Tajungi and Saramuli and informed the beneficiaries to attend and receive their Ration Cards on fixed date and time. However a larger meeting of community level leaders including our volunteers was organized at Brahmnigaon on 18th September, where future action plan was discussed.

Rationale: To aware community leaders about our success and chalk out future strategy.

Brief Description: After 25th July Rally for inclusion of all illegible families under NFSA, the district administration was acted positively and invited us twice for discussion and framed modalities to distribution of Ration Cards in phase wise. After the volunteers meet our volunteers under the leadership of Mr. Bijay Swain met to BDO and Marketing Inspector and review the progress in connection with our demands and demanded immediate distribution of Ration Cards.
Theme: Review the progress from side of administration regarding distribution of Ration Cards.
Rationale: It was need of the hour and we acted promptly after bending of administration before the legitimate demands of deprived common people.

Event for World Peace Day
Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal have organised World Peace Day at National Institute of Social Work and Social Science (NISWASS) premises of Phulbani, Kandhamal district.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Juakin Dungdung, the Principal of the institution (NISWASS), the speakers like Prof Tirtha Jani, the executive body member and Mahamed Abdul Sukur, the President of the Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal has joined as Chief Guest and Chief Speaker. On their deliberation they discussed about the importance of the day and urged the students to come forward to build a peaceful society against all odds.
They also appeal to the audience to create a meaningful atmosphere for Peace and harmony with a respect to our constitution and democratic values of our country. A democratic and peaceful society will be possible when human rights of all sections will be achieved. The issues like Una of Gujurat is always condemnble and such types of atrocities on dalits are violating the spirit of peace, they pointed on their deliberation.
After the meeting a documentary film namely “Ramchand Pakistani ” has been performed by the Campaign for Peace.
Mr. Subramanyam Das gave vote of thanks and Mr. Jagat Samal and Debendra Mantry were coordinated the whole programme.

Type of Activity: Gathering of all beneficiaries on a centre place and distribution of Ration Cards
Brief Description: As per the planning and design our volunteers were engaged with pain and patience from 21st September to 23rd September towards distribution of Ration Cards received from block administration at Brahmnigaon. Importance has been given to all physical challenged, widows and old aged persons during the distribution process. After the completion of distribution the register was submitted to the administration by our volunteers.
Rationale: To associate our peace campaign with right based activities it was highly necessary.

Rationale: Students are the prominent partner of our campaign basically in urban belt as well as district head quarter of the Kandhamal district by which we can explore and spread our peace campaign and can gather the support of civil society. Event on the eve of August’ 9 (Quit India Day/World Indigenous People’s Day)

Brief Description: From the last week of July we have contacted various educational institutions to organize 75th years of ‘Quit India Day’ as well as Indigenous People’s Day on 9th August, 2016. Our volunteers visited different school and colleges and discussed with the authorities of educational institutions for their active participation on the 
programme. But we have compelled to postponed our procession(Road March) due to heavy rain though we planned to organize flag march of students and youths from the statue of Mahatma Gandhi to Sanjay Smruti Government Women’s College. Of course we organized a meeting of students within the college campus.
We had started our event with the various patriotic songs and chanting of slogans like Communalism(communal forces)-Quit India, Tribal and Dalit Exploiters- Quit India, Women and Child Exploiters- Quit India, Quit Corruption or Quit India, Anti-People Black Law(AFSPA)- Quit India the programme was stated under the chairmanship of Md. Abdul Sukur, President of Campaign for Peace, Kandhamal. Mr. Narendra Mohanty, Secretary of the Campaign shared the objective and importance of the day as well as relevance of such activities in present scenario. When Mr. Prasanna Bisoyi, Principal of VISWASS College, Mr. Babaji Behera , lecturer of Sanjay Smruti Govt. Women’s College, Mr. Bijay Swain-Social Activist and Mr. Kanhu Mishra-a volunteer and students of MSW were shared their valuable remarks about the day and role of the students community, Mr. V. Subramanyam Das, Mr. Sumant Karna, Mr. Jagat Samal and Debendra Mantry were took leading role to organize such events. Discussion on Increasing Atrocities on Dalits/Tribal and Minorities

Brief Description: On the eve of 70th years of Independence we were organized a meeting at Community level where more than hundreds were participated from different cross sections. The meeting was organized at Talanga hamlet of Kiramaha village where people from 8 Gram Panchayats namely Katingia, Kumbharigaon, Jhinjiriguda, Brahmnigaon, Hatimunda, Gadapur, Tajungi and Saramuli were participated. We have discussed about the present state character where people from tribal, dalits and poor community suffering a lot. The incidents like Una of Gujurat, Gumudumaha of Kandhamal and Kashmir has been increasing day by day. We have to stand and support the struggles of Tribal. dalits and minorities in our future activities instead of caste, creed and religion. The meeting supported the struggle by dalits against Una incident as well as all caste based atrocities and discriminations across the country.

Brief Description: A three days workshop was organized by CSSS at Ahmadabad from 25th-27th August for the fundamental clarity of the activists and volunteers who associated with various Peace Centers of the country. The various topics such as Nationalism, Global Terrorism, Gendered Culture, Culture and State, Hegemonic Culture, Culture and Caste etc. were discussed by the various resource persons both in class room lecture method and participatory way.
